The International Issues Discussion (IID) series at Toronto Metropolitan University will present its fifth and final talk of the Fall 2025 series, in partnership with the Canadian Association for Security and Intelligence Studies (CASIS): "Cybersecurity, Geopolitics, and Canada's National Interests".
Our guest will be Robert Gordon, Strategic Advisor of the Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange (CCTX), Canada’s private sector organization for the sharing and analysis of cyber threat information and collaboration across all sectors.
The Psychology of Betrayal: What Makes Spies Tick?
Daniel Stanton served for thirty-two years with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), acquiring extensive experience in human source recruitment and management, both domestically and abroad. After the Service, he worked on contract to the Canadian Security Establishment (CSE) for two years. Mr. Stanton is the director of national security and an instructor at UOttawa’s Professional Development Institute. He has co authored an article on foreign intelligence for Foreign Policy Magazine and written op-eds on national security in The Hill Times, Toronto Star, and the Ottawa Citizen. He is a frequent commentator in the media on intelligence subjects.
